Day 0 and Day 1

Well we made it. 3 flights, over 20 hours in the air, nearly 30 hours travel time but we're happily ensconced at the beautiful Taj Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa.

Bought a really cool hat for the Holland/Uruguay match tomorrow. Go Orange (of course)!

We both had a good night's sleep, had breakfast in the hotel, short work out and then a 2 hour massage treatment. Lori got scrubbed in mud and bathed in milk -- sorry, no pictures :-)

Took a walk to Green Market Square and St Georges Mall - vuvuzelas everywhere (btw, they're not as easy to play as you think).

Then we walked down Company's Gardens to the Mount Nelson Hotel.

Lori took us to a wonderful tea at the Mount Nelson. They had quite the spread. It's even mentioned in the book "1000 places to see before you die"

Dinner was at The African Cafe. A really fun restaurant that serves pan-African food. Lori loved the Tanzanian Mango Chicken and Moroccan Cous-Cous. I enjoyed the Botswana Seswaa Masala and the Malawi Mbatata Balls (especially cause it's fun to say). Neither of us particularly enjoyed the Nigerian Shrimp Egusi.

Tomorrow we meet our group and in the evening head out to our first match - Holland vs. Uruguay at Green Point Stadium in Cape Town - Can't wait!
